Local Business Tax Check List
A local business tax is required for most businesses. Valid businesses are eligible for licensure once the zoning has been approved for the intended use and all requirements have been met. Upon issuance of a Florida City Local Business Tax license, business owners must contact Miami Dade County to obtain a county license. Both a city and county license are required to operate a business within city limits. Licenses must be renewed annually, no later than September 30th of each year. Prior to operating your new business, please contact the City's Local Business Tax Official, Lakita Calhoun, at 305-247-8222 to discuss all requirements necessary to obtain a license. The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for the enforcement and levy of fines should you fail to obtain a local business tax license.
